Frequently
Asked Questions
FAQ
 1. What is Skertru?
Skertru means
"Cliff-true", Cliff-Faith", or "Faith
in Cliffs".
Skertru teaches
us to be both Aesic and Vanic in order to experience the
religion as a complete and balanced whole. That which is
Aesic and Vanic does not reflect the gods per se, but
rather a philosophy which we believe. This philosophy is
one of balance, it is called "The
Philosophy of Aesism and Vanism".
Skertru is the
belief in the The Lay of Creation, The
Profecy of Nanna, Holy Days and Festivals, The Skertru
Edda,
and either the Aesir Saga or the Vanir
Saga
or both. See also Skerbok.
2. What is Skergard?
Skergard means
"Cliff-Enclosure" or "Enclosure of
cliffs".
Skergard was
founded in the summer of 1992 in El Paso, TX by Lars
Agnarsson and Ingrón Vanirsson. In 1997 Lars Agnarsson
and Meier Loptsson decided to "awaken" Skergard
once again. The organization itself was restructured and
now reflects a New Skergard.
Skergard is now
a member organization encouraging individuals,
particularly those of similar spiritual paths, to join
together to better the community. Membership is free as
Skergard is supported and funded by the Skertru Council
of Godhar and individual donations. Our Council seeks to
keep open lines of communication with all individuals and
organizations of similar spiritual interests.

Skertru as a
form of spirituality is readily acceptable to other

them to help better the community in which we live.

is the structure of Skergard?
Skergard is lead
by the Council of Gođar. The Council is made up of

There are two
offices outside the Council, the Bókari and the
