Skertru means "Cliff-true", Cliff-Faith", or "Faith in Cliffs".

Skertru teaches us to be both Aesic and Vanic in order to experience the religion as a complete and balanced whole. That which is Aesic and Vanic does not reflect the gods per se, but rather a philosophy which we believe. This philosophy is one of balance, it is called "The Philosophy of Aesism and Vanism".

Skertru is the belief in the The Lay of Creation, The Profecy of Nanna, Holy Days and Festivals, The Skertru Edda, and either the Aesir Saga or the Vanir Saga or both. See also Skerbok.
