BYLAWS OF SKERGARD (updated and current from Ostara 1999 c.e.)

Membership Requirements

1. Any person who expresses an interest in Skergard wholeheartedly is granted membership. Membership is open to persons of any age, race, ethnic background, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.

2. Any person can be denied admission by a 2/3 vote in the Council of Godhar.

3. Membership is free.

Offices

Reverend Godhar---The Reverend Godhar are the various Godhi and Gydhja who make up the Council of Godhar; the Council of Godhar is a body of elected officials who represent the spiritual interests of Skergard. The membership of the Council of Godhar is not limited at this time. Term of office expires when the Council of Godhar vote to remove the Godhi/Gydhja from "priest status". Godhar have one vote for every year they are in Skergard, each year accumulates on their date of entry. Godhar must be Skertru, or another Northern Tradition. Godhar are the Legally Ordained priests and priestesses of Skergard, they may legally perform marraiges, funerals, etc. In order to become a Godhi or Gydhja one must go throught the training program.

Initiate Godhar: The Init. Godhar are the members of the Clergy Education Program who have passed the initial exam given by a Reverend Godhi or Reverend Gydhja. Initiate Godhar shall be known as "Initiate Godhi" or "Initiate Gydhja", male and female respectively.  The abbreviation for Initiate Godhar shall be "IG". Init. Godhar.

Gyllakenni/a--- The Gyllakenni/a is an RG in charge of the Clergy Education Program.

Bókari/a---The Bókari/a is an individual selected by the Council to act as a liason between Skergard and other community organizations. Term of office expires only when the Council decides to elect a new Bókari/a. In order to do this the Council of Godhar must find the Bókari/a in violation of Skergard policy, the Council then selcects a new Bókari/a. There are no religious requirements to become the Bókari/a.

Ritstjóri/a---The Ritstjóri/a is an individual selected by the Council to produce publications. Term of office expires only when the Council of Godhar decide to elect a new Ritstjóri/a in order to do this the Council of Godhar must find the Ritstjóri/a in violation of Skergard policy, the Council then selects a new Ritstjóri/a. There are no religious requirements to become the Ritstjóri/a.

Skertruar---Skertruar are the individuals who are Skertru.

Members---Members are individuals who express an interest in Skergard and have the best interest of Skergard in mind. There are no religious requirements for membership.
