What is Asa-Faith?

"The Northmen, before their conversion to Christianity, and as far back in time as History is able to follow them, were the adherents of a Religion usually called the Asa-Faith, from the Aesir, the Gods concerning whom it taught".  -Keyser, 1854ce.

The above quote from Keyser is very straight-forward. Asa-Faith means Aesir-Faith. In modern times many people call it Asatru,  for Asa-Tru where Tru is Icelandic for Faith.

Asatru itself has many different belief systems using the Poetic Edda or even the Nine Noble Virtues as a common ground. There are almost as many systems as there are adherents, each slightly or even drastically different than the other.

The Asa-Faith that we propose is the Faith of our German and Scandinavian ancestors specifically outlined and explained in the works of Victorian Scholars such as Keyser whose works are available on this site. In addition to Keysers' works we incorporate the philosophy of our Founder and most known works from the 10th-19th centuries. The older works will be made available on our site soon as is possible, most are very rare and out of print.
