night of Yule:
Herring rite brings a new awakening. Smoke herring is always a
favorite. Herring, sacred to both Thor and Holde, mark a new year and
a new beginning. It is written that Thor carries a pack full of
herring when he ventures from Asgard, as per the Eddas.

Clergy Education Program
Changed: RG LęršR and RG Lars, Assistant
Gyllakenni and Gyllakenni of Skergard Aga Clergy Education
Program
respectively, have changed the curriculum in order to
accept all individuals who practice *any* "Northern
Tradition". Clergy requirements are no longer
limited to the Skertru, but rather tailored to each
individual and each individuals personal Faith and
dedication within the Northern Tradition. Reverend Godhi
LęršR (Asst. Gyllakenni) and Reverend Godhi Lars
(Gyllakenni) are accepting applications at this time.
Applications should contain an entire religious
background, and what they want to study (branch of
Northern Tradition), in order to tailor your needs in the
Clergy Program. Currently Skergard has received
approximately 120 applicants for clergy but we did not
have the volunteers to aid them, please re-apply. We
apologize for this inconvenience. write to Gyllakenni@skergard.org or AsstGyllakenni@skergard.org .
Another First in Northern

organization to offer free pop accounts and email servers
as well as email forwarding and yourname@skergard.org email address. If you are a
member please send your email name request to webmaster@skergard.org for immediate assignment, if you
are not a member and want to be in the most globally
diverse Organization of Northern Traditions with the
least BS click here.
Skergard Mailing List becomes
Open: The Skergard email mailing list
is now open to the public. We are proud to say that our
list has never had a flamewar since it was founded in
1997. Our list was opened to the public in order that we
do not have the option of "stagnating in our own
thoughts with no outside opinion on things". We
welcome all facets of the Northern Tradition. This list
will not clog your inbox and is generally quiet, we hope
to change that (the quietness). The list only contains
1/5th of the membership base of Skergard, those members
who are not subscribed (or those of you that want to be
on it but aren't members) please go to www.onelist.com and subscribe in kind.

"Our
ways shall spring once more, sharing and giving,
Midgard we rise, Ase and Van they bless you;
Blindifylgjar Bu you are now, and together will Orion,
and will Sandra speak, freely the words shall flow."

Site Revised: The site has been revised for ease of
navigation. We have decided not to use Dynamic HTML (as
is seen in this page with IE4+) so systems don't lock up,
the difference is that the cloud background does not move
with DHTML. Also note all religious links to writing have
moved to the "Skertru" link on the main index.
Ritstjóri
elected for Utgard: The Council elected Arnold Kelly
as the editor of Utgard Online Magazine of Northern
Traditions. All submissions to Utgard should be sent to
him (see below).
Utgard
Online Magazine of Northern Traditions:
Utgard issue number 4 has been
released. To submit articles, poems, art, or anything to
Utgard, please send email to utgard@skergard.org.
Skerbók:
Skerbók, the second edition, was composed by RG
Lars and consists of about 140 pages. It contains the
writings of Skertru along with the Norse pagan (in
general) ideology of the afterlife. The section on the
afterlife is a revised and expanded version of Hilda
Roderick Ellis [before marriage, H.R.E. Davidson proper]
research. It also includes Soul Lore as well as a
non-Cabalistic viewpoint of the World Tree Yggdrasil
complete with full-color charts that span all research
levels in Skergard (one color is equal to the same and
thus all charts link)...click here for the contents of
the book.
Kindred List: We are organizing a
list of Kindred's (or Hópar/Felagur/groups). Each group
is welcome to have their own web page on the Skergard
site if they wish. Currently a majority of Skergard
groups are unlisted. Please click here to get your Kindred listed.
Irminsul
Aettir Wants to add groups: Skergard groups were mass deleted
from the Irminsul Aettir websites contact list "en
masse" in May 1998 (for being Skergard groups that
they knew of). The Irminsul would like to "add"
(re-add) our groups, but we must resubmit the groups to
the site, individually. The Irminsul Aettir deleted
Skergard groups alltogether with the exception of
Skergard as an organizational link in May 1998. The
Council of Godhar (Skergard Council) did not deem their
deletion as "important" on the grounds that
Skergard is the Largest Organization and the Council
viewed them as "having the right to delete whom ever
they wish, although deleting all groups from the largest
org is illogical as support may cease should they require
it". If your group wishes to be re-added to their
site contact their Drighten by
clicking here.
The site is at http://www.irminsul.org
Register
Your Web Pages: Skergard still offers a free 50 search
engine/directory registry for its members. If you would
like to register your site click here.
