The Treasure
by Jennifer Leigh Crandall
- "I think it is wonderful that we do so many fun things together," said Kiya with a laugh in her voice. Inarr did not reply, nor did he take his eyes from the soldiers who faced him with drawn swords. Inarr and Kiya stood back to back in the middle of the enemy camp, a treasure chest beside them. They had snatched the chest from the small temple in the village, but on their retreat they ran right into a score of guardsmen. Kiya and Inarr were surrounded before they could make their escape....

Loki, his children and interpretations of what I see of them in us.
by RG Loptsson
One day while sitting around pondering this life of ours my mind turned to Loki (as usual). I began recalling his life's story and the stories of his offspring who hold such prominent places in the Eddas of our folk. I suddenly realized how much their lives can be compared to ours, so I decided to write it down for all to decide upon.

Scandinavian Legends Retold
by RG LærðR
Once, so long ago one may not be able to recount the chief’s lineage, a poor couple and their three sons lived in a miserable cabin in the darkest side of the forest, working hour to hour and having not but poor raiment and the barest meals, until they counted their lives for naught, and were awaiting their ends bowed down to their wyrd.

Ceremony, Bryggdag, August 2nd
by RG VolundR Lars Agnarsson (from Skerbok)
Brygg-dag is Brewers' Day (August 1st), it is about this time that the grains are harvested for making the various Ales for Yule; it is also traditional to bake bread during this time.

Yggdrasil
by IG Þegja
Yggdrasil connects the nine worlds. It binds them together as it binds the entire universe. As such it forms the axis between those worlds, a connection between them. In the model of the nine worlds it is Midgard, our world, that occupies the axis between the other eight worlds. As such Midgard could be seen to be the trunk of the world tree and the roots and branches the other eight worlds.

The Holy Oath Ring
by IG Yens
The oath-rings are the most legendary of the golden arm-rings which exist in prehistory. The name comes from the Icelandic sagas, which tell us that these rings were worn or held at the swearing of oaths, marriages, and other important events, and that when given freely to another they create a bond stronger than that of blood. These same sagas also describe temple rings or oath-rings which had been used by the Gydhjur and Godhar, and keep these and other words and deeds of our Elder Troth alive so we may remain true to the ways of our honoured ancestors before us. The Hammer itself is a sign of this faithfulness...

A Poem
by Erik
Wait, what is that sound
Some one speaks from way way down
The words are ancient and rich as gold
Listen to the well for they come from Holde...

The Fosters Story
by Atrith
Long ago my foster-uncle would sit at the end of a long day and stir the fire, and if he were prodded with a horn and a nudge he would recite stories for us in his own thoughtful style. Below is a sample...
